RAWALPINDI: Three people, including two labourers, were killed in separate road traffic accidents on Thursday in the Chakri and Peshawar Road areas.

In the first incident, a 70-year-old man was fatally struck by a pickup van while crossing the road in front of a commercial plaza on Peshawar Road. The victim, identified as Nazar Hussain, suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot, according to police and emergency services.

In a separate accident on Chakri Road, two labourers lost their lives when a cement-laden truck overturned and fell on them near Mujahid Village. Rescue 1122 reported that the truck driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel, causing the accident.

Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and declared both men dead. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem examinations
