KARACHI: A 10-year-old girl died when a three-storey building constructed on an 80-square-yard plot in Bhains Colony suddenly collapsed on Tuesday evening.

Rescuers said they pulled alive a man and a woman from debris.

The rescue operation continued and the debris was being removed when a girl, later identified as Dua, 10, was found dead.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that three families lived in the building, but at the time of its collapse, the families living on the first and the second floors were not home.

He said it was an old dilapidated building which fell down because of its weak structure.
