TOBA TEK SINGH: Two persons were killed and 11 others injured in fog-related accidents here on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a man died and four others injured as a result of a collision between a trailer and a car due to intense fog at Khanewal in Jahanian near Qutabpur toll plaza on Lahore Road.

Rescue 1122 officials said the deceased was identified as Muhammad Irfan (35) while four injured car riders included two women and as many men. They were shifted to Jahanian THQ hospital.

Also in heavy fog at Faisalabad near Khurrianwala on Sheikhupura Road, a car hit a road divider as a result four people received critical injuries. They were identified as Shahnaz Bibi (60), her son Tariq (38), her elder brother Shoukat (73) and her daughter-in-law Kausar Perveen. They were shifted to Allied hospital.

A mini-truck fell into Rakh branch canal near Dijkot, Faisalabad, due to poor visibility in thick fog as a result driver Amjad Ali and two others were seriously wounded. They were shifted to DHQ hospital.

In another incident, two speeding cars collided head-on at Khanewal on Lahore-Multan Road near Punjab highway patrolling police

post on Tuesday evening as a result Nasir Mahmood of Lahore died instantly while four others were wounded and shifted to Kacha Khu rural health centre.

They were identified as Aleem Ahmad, Muhammad Arham, Naila Bibi and Rasheeda Bibi.

PFA: A Punjab Food Authority team raided on Tuesday an

illegal slaughter house in New Plots locality of Gojra and recovered 610 kg of unwholesome beef.

A Punjab Food Authority official said the team found sick and weak animals slaughtered by slaughter house owner Faqeer Muhammad. The meat was to be supplied to shops in Gojra city and suburbs.

The team dumped the meat outside the city and handed over the butcher to Gojra City police.

A case had been registered against him on the complaint of food safety officer Muhammad Faheem Yousaf.

MURDER: A young boy killed his friend over a trifle at a barber shop at Malik Chowk, Pirmahal, on Tuesday evening.

According to police, suspect Imran and deceased Sumair were present at the shop for hair cut.

Over some issue, their discussion turned into use of abusive words and Imran attacked Sumair with a scissor as a result he was critically wounded and died instantly.

Police have shifted his body to THQ hospital for autopsy.
