Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Friday briefed the Senate that the government was not considering any option to extradite Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, and said an FIR had been registered against the alleged Indian spy.

While speaking during the Question Hour in Senate, Aziz explained that "it has never been said that there was any lack of evidence against Jadhav".

Senator Talha Mehmood had asked the adviser whether the government was planning to give the same 'red carpet' treatment to Jadhav, which they gave to CIA contractor Raymond Davis.

“We have prepared an FIR and a case in the process of registration to prosecute the Indian state actor for involvement in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistan,” he told the House in response to the query.

The adviser said Pakistan has shared a dossier with the UN Secretary General on the Indian involvement in internal affairs of Pakistan and in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistan.

“This dossier includes details about Kulbhushan Jadhav and his activities.”

He said the government is also examining the possibilities for sharing the dossier with other countries and international organisations.

He explained that dossier was not the only route to deal with the issue, and the actual route is prosecution, for which a case is being prepared.

The adviser also said the dossier has been prepared based on thorough groundwork and input from various state departments.

“This is a very delicate and sensitive issue and requires detailed preparation and homework as it relates to the direct or indirect involvement of an Indian state actor in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistan.”

He said Pakistan's viewpoint on the issue was accepted internationally, and the government had also sent a list of questions to the Indian government on this matter.

Aitzaz Ahsan challenges PM to mention Jadhav’s name in a speech

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said, "I had announced that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif mentions the name of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav in his speech, I will donate Rs50,000 to the Pakistan Association of the Blind.”

“Has the premier spoken about Kulbhushan Jadhav?" Ahsan asked Aziz.

“When the time is appropriate, the PM will speak about Kulbhushan Yadav,” the PM’s adviser replied.

The senator also expressed his disappointment at the absence of ministers from the Senate session.

"During the previous sessions, the ministers were going to the Supreme Court for the Panamagate hearings. Now there are no hearings, they should have been here," Aitzaz Ahsan said.

So you have so much evidence that you dont know what to do with it? Or is it you have none to justify all the things you have claimed for a year?

Saif Zulfiqar Mar 03, 2017 12:32pm

All the agents of foreign countries when arrested should be treated equally with long long prison sentences.

Farhaz Mar 03, 2017 12:48pm

Dossier should be shared in Media..

Aslum shaikh Mar 03, 2017 12:54pm

Even theoretically if he is spy, India too have caught many Pakistani nationals. You can not make much out of this case. No one can be procsecuted based on that he was thinking. You are taking all the time to create evidences. Case closed for India and international community as well

Az Mar 03, 2017 12:52pm

This Indian terrorist has confessed! That is enough to convict him.

Zakir hussain Mar 03, 2017 01:01pm

Here he goes again

BNJ Mar 03, 2017 01:13pm

Pls take the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav to UN once and for all. Every time anything happens in Balochistan, the electronic media jumps up with this name. Just for heavens sake take him to the International court and prove that India is behind all the problems in Pakistan. Else, send him back to where he belongs.

AhMAd Mar 03, 2017 01:20pm

@Az No-one believe confession without actual proof as confession can be in pressure too. So till Pakistan can share actual proof this is not enough.

Justice Mar 03, 2017 01:17pm

So it was never said that there is lack of evidence, so now its being created... huh ?

Ghani K Mar 03, 2017 01:22pm

When it comes down to India and Modi, our Mian Sahib's attitude is akin to the attitude of Donald Trump towards Russia and Putin. - benign silence.

A Mar 03, 2017 01:23pm

A lone spy, ( not some big network) like him is a small mosquito for a big country ....but discussion never ends !

Has he stolen some secret documents ? Why waste so much time ....take action !

Mahen Mar 03, 2017 01:22pm

@Az Confessed to what? Whom was he dealing with? How many people have been arrested or questioned that were dealing with him? If none, please explain. How many guns/explosives was he carrying apart from his passport?

M.Saeed Mar 03, 2017 01:53pm

We must have some irrefutable scientific means of getting evidence against such excuses as 'forced statements under duress'.

true minds Mar 03, 2017 01:57pm

There is a learning how to deal with two countries. India and China working on sharing land formula for arunachal pradesh.Which was long dispute between the two.But now without killing anybody, both countries are doing there part.

China ready to cede land for part of Arunachal Pradesh.

asdfg Mar 03, 2017 02:04pm

Keep preparing....You will not be able to get any evidence against him. so carry on....Pakistan will not be able to win the case.

Roman Mar 03, 2017 02:07pm

@Az You are so naieve.

Shafiq Mar 03, 2017 02:11pm

@Az In the hands of third world country police anybody will confess whatever you want them to confess.

SURYA KANT AGRAWAL Mar 03, 2017 02:30pm

Pakistan has an absolute right to deal with this man, the way it wants.

Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad Mar 03, 2017 02:31pm

To nip the evil in the bud of all the affiliates & associates of the "movers and shakers" of New Delhi including RAW type spy agencies of India, due process of law must be carried-out in case of recently caught red-handed Indian spy and state actor Kulbhushan Jadhav, for his involvement in subversive and terrorist activities on the soil and against the land and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan directly or indirectly, explicitly or implicitly, knowingly or unknowingly.

BhOot Mar 03, 2017 02:28pm

@Farhaz Won't happen. This is just another tit for tat "showbaazi" with no real proof to back up the arrest. Both Indian and Pakistani establishment are just making fool of the people.

D.K.PAMNANI Mar 03, 2017 02:30pm

There is no evidence so far against him that he has done anything wrong against Pakistan. So better release him.

Namo Mar 03, 2017 02:33pm

Predictable sound bites as usual.

SUPER GOOD Mar 03, 2017 02:36pm

True; The government not considering any option.

Observer Mar 03, 2017 02:40pm

It means they are. There is no evidence against him, and even Iran is not supporting.

SUPER GOOD Mar 03, 2017 02:49pm

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad , Why there is no move and shake so far against "movers and shakers" ?

SUPER GOOD Mar 03, 2017 03:01pm

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad , The statement indirectly suggesting that evidences not available against Jadhav so far.

Saif Zulfiqar Mar 03, 2017 03:20pm

@D.K.PAMNANI, Criminals never accept their crimes. Did Modi accept the killings of 2000 Gujrat Muslims?

Asif Kashmiri Mar 03, 2017 03:20pm

@D.K.PAMNANI you are one seriously misinformed individual

SID Mar 03, 2017 03:21pm

@BNJ Two months ago Pakistan had submitted dossier to UN. What happened after that ??

Khurram Mar 03, 2017 03:20pm

If there is lack of evidence then what was he speaking in confession? If there is no evidence then why is he in jail?

SUPER GOOD Mar 03, 2017 03:28pm

@Saif Zulfiqar , Of all the Indian states, only in Gujarat state, maximum Muslims continue to vote for Modi, disproving the blame on him. Yes, they love him:))

RAVEENDRA NATH Mar 03, 2017 03:46pm

The gentleman in the recent past admitted to having no evidence against Jadhav. He must have now got some solid proof.

Taimoor khan Mar 03, 2017 03:49pm

@BNJ Why take him to UN? He was caught on Pakistani soil and Pakistani laws apply to him. He will be prosecuted in either civilian or military courts of Pakistan. My guess it, it might be anti terrorism courts of Pakistan (ATC). All Indians from every corner of the globe will be informed of his fate and his crimes against the citizens of Pakistan.

DG Mar 03, 2017 03:49pm

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad

Present him in person in the next Security Council Meeting by way of proof to the Dossiers so far submitted by Pakistan. That would be a smart move.

Ouzzy Mar 03, 2017 03:50pm

@brr look whos talking. We are still witi g for uri. Pathankpt and surgical strike. Mr chest thumping

abdul rehman Mar 03, 2017 03:57pm

@Az : He is accused as a spy and not as a terrorist. There is a big difference. Almost all countries have spies,

abdul rehman Mar 03, 2017 04:02pm

@Saif Zulfiqar : Did Modi accept the killings of 2000 Gujrat Muslims?

The supreme court of India could not find any evidence against Modi.

Shahid Mar 03, 2017 04:36pm

The delays in taking actions Sartaj Aziz is talking about, tell the real intention of the government. Why has he been quiet for so long on this most critical issue?

Nero Mar 03, 2017 04:37pm

@Az: You should know that "confession", especially televised on TV, has NO value in a court of law.

SNB Mar 03, 2017 04:41pm

People should understand the difference between a spy and a terrorist

Sunilsm Mar 03, 2017 04:48pm

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad bro bravo, it English is brilliant sir, in every comment of urs, the movers and shakers etc etc looks too cool

SUPER GOOD Mar 03, 2017 04:57pm

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad , By using" "movers and shakers" in your every comments, your love for India is very much visible.

Shahid Mar 03, 2017 05:24pm

@true minds Treat your smaller neighbours the way you are treating the mightier. Think how India has so far treated Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan.

Anil Mar 03, 2017 05:30pm

@Saif Zulfiqar but before you do that you have to prove it.

MS Mar 03, 2017 05:48pm

I will double up on Aitzaz Ahsan also if PM will take his name. What does that say about our PM how independent is he?

BhOot Mar 03, 2017 06:00pm

@Saif Zulfiqar It's different in India than in Pakistan. Modi was cleared by Indian Supreme Court. He doesn't need to accept or reject anything. The law took its course.

Indian4RMBLORE Mar 03, 2017 06:10pm

FIR still in process, its been such long time. Pls share dossier to ind also and give access to ind authority in presence of ur officers

KHANM Mar 03, 2017 06:24pm

@asdfg the hope isn't to win, that's yours.

Harmony-1© Mar 03, 2017 06:34pm

@Bhoot - The case never went to Supreme Court. SIT headed by Geeta Johri was compromised as she was removed. So, a compromised Supreme Court panel refused to prosecute him in 2013, citing ‘insufficient evidence’.

Suraj Mar 03, 2017 06:41pm

If they are Pak agent or Indian agents.... You just cannot find any evidences even if you know the truth.... That's the fact.... What these both are doing in each other, normal people will never get to know. But the truth is both may involved in spying because of hostilities

ZQ Mar 03, 2017 06:51pm

Just wondering what an active Indian officer was doing in Baluchistan? Is Baluchistan a popular vacation spot in India? I know that if any Indian or Pakistan official wants to travel to either country they need a NOC from their respective country.

Samir Lone Mar 03, 2017 07:21pm

@brr it's classified. Don't worry, just know we have your navy commander in custody and he will languish here forever

GAUR Mar 03, 2017 07:29pm

@Harmony-1© really! Never went to supreme court ? Better not to talk if you don't know about things.

Samrat Mar 03, 2017 07:31pm

@Harmony-1© Congress was ruling at that time, think before you talk.

Parikshith Mar 03, 2017 10:41pm

@Harmony-1© as usual google/wiki knowledge.

Rominder Mar 04, 2017 01:03am

Love Pakistanis from Indian ( roots Peshawar) I m many times called Hindu Pathan

LAHORI KID Mar 04, 2017 01:19am

If there isn't any lack of evidence, If the findings are so credible and so detailed, the FIR and prosecution should have been prepared months ago. If the dossier was shared with the UN Secretary General, may I add months ago, nothing came out of it, maybe there wasn't enough detail, or it wasn't worth the paper it was written on, how is this government expecting other countries to react?

OneHumanity Mar 04, 2017 01:58am

India and Pakistan should stop this madness. You guys eat same roti and sabzi and love each other because you are the same people. Address core problem in a bilateral way - something that has not worked before - or seek help from US/Britain/Russia who treat all Indians and Pakistanis same. May you both great nations live in peace like you have except for last 70 years.

Lootra Mar 04, 2017 03:08am

Poor guy. Was kidnapped from the border and is now a political pawn.

Anjum Mar 04, 2017 03:57am

Just put him in jail already

Ramesh Dembla Mar 04, 2017 05:05am

Why this double speak? I remember the adviser earlier said in the senate that there was no concluding evidence again this Indian spy. Now the FIR is registered without any evidence. We are saying we are super power. I do not see any justification in the FIR. The adviser is serving the ego of this government. People of Pakistan are not fools. They understand that we are not truthful.

my Comments Mar 04, 2017 05:13am

Why its always, 'considering to this' or 'will be doing that'. Whats this logic of 'future tense', why not concrete 'results', that it has been done, instead of will do that, will investigate that, will make committee for it or will make a commission for that. make. Do intelligent people of Pakistan buy this logic?

alla bux Mar 04, 2017 06:14am

Why not just admit that we DO NOT have any evidence against Mr Yadav and trying to create it and that is the reason for the delay?

De. Ramesh Sharma Mar 04, 2017 06:44am

@Az If you are arrested by Indian or Pakistani police the I can bet that you will confess everything the want you to confess. This is one reason that the confession obtained in police custody is not acceptable in the court.

MUm Mar 04, 2017 06:42am

@Az confession has no ground in international law . It's not like a Indian politician or working armed forces person confessed .he jus a retired man . mumbai attackers crossed the border also confessed thousand times it has no legality as per your own govt words . If he is a spy no one of his stature can carry passport and no operatives around him to work with him or support. All pak nabbed is a Indian national with a valid visa. Politicians amuse the public.why no counsellor access to India so far ?

MUm Mar 04, 2017 06:55am

@ZQ who said he is active ? He served Indian navy 8years prior to this . You should ask him what he was doing with Indian passport? Because if he really is spy can't carry Indian passport

Bupi Mar 04, 2017 06:56am

Be senstive. Its world over that JUSTICE delayed is Justice denied.

Satyameva Jayate Mar 04, 2017 07:04am

"it relates to the direct or indirect involvement of an Indian state actor" - In 18 months Sartaj Aziz does not even know if India;s involvement is Direct or Indirect!

ABA Mar 04, 2017 07:18am

This step is certainly not going to help Pakistan to improve relationship with India. Indian citizen kidnapped from Iran is denied to have access to Indian council, no medical facility provided to him, no lawer is granted to him and then he is charged. This is very foolish step and will get India's strong reply on this.

Alba Mar 04, 2017 08:27am

@Saif Zulfiqar ... ... He wasn't spying. He was running drugs.

Harmony-1© Mar 04, 2017 02:59pm

@Samrat - Yes, it never went to Supreme Court for a trial.

I do "think before I talk" but do you?

Harmony-1© Mar 04, 2017 03:00pm

@GAUR - Can you prove with a news link that there was a trial in Supreme Court? Or else don't make up your mind with preconceived ideas!

Samir Lone Mar 05, 2017 09:53am

@Indian4RMBLORE not happening!

D.K.PAMNANI -INDIA Mar 06, 2017 12:06pm

@Asif Kashmiri

Any evidence produced? correct yourself.
