KHAIRPUR, Jan 7: Five books published by the Sachal chair of the Shah Abdul Latif University and its website were launched at a ceremony at Kojhi Hall of the university here on Saturday.

The books included Rag, Sufi Aeen Sindh by Dr Tanveer Abbasi, Sachal Sarmast Jay Kalam Mein Khudi Jo Tasawwur by Mohammad Ali Haddad, Shaheed-i-Haq by Bedal Masroor, Mysticism, Sindh and Sachal Sarmast by Prof Ayaz Gul and Sachal Sarmast Aeen Sandas Ishq Nama compiled by Dr Nabi Bux Qazi.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Shaikh appreciated additional director of the chair Prof Ayaz Gul and his team on their hard work and devotion.

She lauded the launching of the website and said that it would help promote the teaching and philosophy of Sufi poet Sachal Sarmast.

She suggested that CDs on the teaching and philosophy of Sachal Sarmast should be prepared and brought in the market. Qadeer Ansari presented a review of the five books and said that they would prove helpful in understanding the poetry of Sachal Sarmast.—BoC
