LAHORE: As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Lahore Bridge Association (LBA) organised a one-day Pairs Bridge Tournament at the Lahore Gymkhana Club (LGC) on Saturday. A total of 22 pairs from Punjab, Islamabad Capital Territory, and Karachi participated under the supervision of internationally acclaimed Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East Tournament Director and Secretary Ihsan Qadir.

After six hours of competitive play across two sessions of 44 boards, trophies and cash prizes were distributed among the top winners by LGC Convenor Viqar Uddin. For the North-South pairs, Viqar Uddin Viqqi and Sadafar Mahmood Khan were declared first, Zia Hyder and Ahsan Qureshi were second, Sajid Nabi Malik and Rashid Nabi Malik third, and Rubina Agha and Ghias Malik stood fourth.

Among the East-West pairs, Shani and Hamza clinched the first position, Arslan Mansoor and Khaled Mohiuddin were declared second, Farrukh Liaqat and Junaid Said third and, Farooq Alvi and Sarfraz A Butt stood fourth.

The Best Mixed Pair award went to Rubina Agha and Ghias Ahmed, while the Best Ladies Pair prize was claimed by Najm Abid and Neelofar Aslam.
