RAWALPINDI: Four people, including two brothers, were gunned down allegedly by their rivals over a dispute of property in the Kahuta area on Friday.

Muhammad Yaqoob, a resident of Kahuta, lodged an FIR with the police, stating that Samar Iqbal and Junaid Gull, his nephew and a property dealer, quarrelled with Sher Bahadur, Hafiz Rustam, and others a few days ago over a property deal.

He said that his nephew, Samar Iqbal, with his brother Junaid Gull, Mateen Kiani and Shoaib came to his house on Thursday at 9 pm and then left for some work.

He further stated in the FIR that after waiting till midnight, he saw his nephew’s vehicles coming from the opposite direction. Further, he added that all of a sudden, some people hiding behind the bushes ambushed and opened fire on his nephew’s vehicle at about 2:45 am.

He said that five of the attackers, including Sher Bahadur, Hafiz Rustam and others who could be identified, and nine others unidentified blocked the way of his nephew’s vehicle and fired on them, killing four persons.

Attackers pulled out all of the injured from their vehicle and put them on the ground, and one of the attackers fired gunshots at Samar Iqbal and then fired gunshots in the air before fleeing.

He further said in the FIR that “Sher Bahadur checked all of the victims and asked his accomplices that ‘the job is done’ and now let us leave.” He said that after the accused left the scene, they found that Junaid Gull, Mateen Kiani, Samar Iqbal, and Muhammad Shoaib had expired.

The motive behind the murders was the land dispute. Five accused, Sher Bahadur, Hafiz Rustam, and so on, have been named in the FIR with nine unidentified. The police have registered a case and started the investigation.
