ISLAMABAD: Criminals shot and injured a man during a robbery, while another was beaten and injured in a similar incident, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, criminals shot and injured a man during a robbery in I-10/1, police said, adding that the injured person was identified as Ahmad Khan.

Bilawar Khan, along with Ahmad Khan and Badshah Zaib, came to a religious seminary in I-10/1 to meet his son in a car, they said, adding that after reaching the seminary, Bilawar Khan went inside while the other two remained seated in the car.

Two riders came on a motorcycle and held the car riders at gunpoint, the police said, adding that later the robbers looted cash amounting to Rs11,000, and two mobile phones from Badshah Zaib.

Robbers opened fire when Ahmad Khan put up resistance to them and as a result, he sustained a bullet injury in his back.

The robbers escaped with the looted items, the police said, adding that later the injured was shifted to a hospital where his condition was critical.

In another incident, criminals beat and injured a man during a robbery in the area of Golra. A man narrowly escaped the firing of a robber in G-12, the police said.

Later, the robbers looted mobile phones and Rs32,000 cash from them and escaped, they added.
