LAHORE: The government should take measures to control inflation, high prices of electricity, petrol and gas and raise the wages of workers in all sectors by 35pc.

The demands were raised in a meeting held under the auspices of the All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions at Bakhtiar Labour Hall on Thursday.

Federation secretary general Khurshid Ahmad urged all political parties to adopt the national economic self-reliance policy to get rid of foreign debt by developing industry, commercial entities and agriculture.

The meeting was also addressed by Akbar Ali Khan, Salahuddin Ayubi, Nausher Khan, Arshad Gujjar, Osama Tariq and Hassan Munir Bhatti.
