RAHIM YAR KHAN: A woman sub-inspector committed suicide here on Saturday over some domestic issue.

Mary Rose, a mother of two, was posted at City A division police station.

According to some initial reports, she consumed pesticide pills after a quarrel with her husband.

She was shifted to Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) for treatment where she died. Her husband is also serving in police.

shootout: A policeman and two robbers were injured in a ‘shootout’ on Saturday in Sadiqabad, some 32-km from here.

Reports said two dacoits snatched a motorcycle from a local on hospital road early in the morning and escaped towards bypass road.

After receipt of information, policemen chased the suspects and signalled them to stop near a private society.

On seeing the police, they opened fire. During a ‘shootout’, both the suspects and a police personnel were injured.

Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the Sadiqabad Tehsil Headquarters (THQ)Hospital.

Police recovered the motorcycle and arms from the suspects.
