RAWALPINDI: District Education Authority (DEA) on Tuesday asked all the public and private schools to implement summer vacations schedule issued by Punjab government from May 28 to August 14. However, the schools are allowed to call children to observe Youm-i-Takbeer.
In a letter to public and private schools, DEA Chief Executive Officer Amanullah stated that all schools shall remain closed from May 28 to August 14 for summer vacations. “No examinations will be conducted after May 28. Summer camps are strictly not allowed during this period. Teaching staff will also be on holidays and is not permitted to attend school during the vacation period,” the letter stated.
It stated: “All private schools are strictly directed not to collect three months’ advance fees. Only monthly fee collection is allowed as per the policy of the School Education Department. Only administrative staff is allowed to attend school for official administrative tasks.”
About reopening date, it stated that all schools will reopen on August 15 (Friday). It directed to ensure strict compliance with the above instructions. Any violation will be treated as non-compliance with government orders and may lead to disciplinary action as per the directions of the competent authority.
The district officials were of the view that it was decided in view of the heat and health of the students so that the children could be protected from any physical or mental stress.
They said that the government wanted all school owners and administration to cooperate to ensure a safe and conducive educational environment.
Authorities have also appealed parents to immediately notify the concerned educational authority in case of any unnecessary fees or school activities.
These steps are being taken to ensure children’s welfare and transparency in the education system.
