Extortionists arrested

MUZAFFARGARH: Police arrested three extortionists from Qasba Gujrat for taking extortion from oil tankers.

Mahmood Kot police had received complaints from the drivers of oil tankers and other people who alleged that Zareef, Imran, Shafi, Abdul Khaliq and Asghar were taking extortion from the drivers in Qasba Gujrat.

DPO Hassan Iqbal ordered SHO Mohiuddin to look into the matter. Police raided the place and found the suspects busy getting extortion money from the drivers.

Police arrested Zareef, Imran and Asghar while others escaped. Police said the suspects had been taking Rs500 from each tanker on a daily basis for the last many days. A case has been registered against the suspects.
