KASUR: A gang of drug pushers allegedly tortured a man and forced him to parade naked after shaving his eyebrows and moustache over suspicion of informing police about their activities at Khokhar Chak 25 on Wednesday.
Police registered a case against 10 nominated people without any arrest so far.
According to complainant Naveed Ahmed, Nazir, Shabbir and Nawab Din stopped him when he was on his way home by his motorcycle. The suspects, alleged the complainant, tortured him and later unstripped him at gunpoint. He also alleged that the suspects shaved his eyebrows and moustache and forced him to parade naked in the village.
Ahmed said the three men were drug pushers and they suspected that he was an informer of police and reporting their illegal activities.
Police registered a case against Shah Muhammad, Nazir, Shabbir, Muhammad Ali, Nawab Din, Nasir, Shahzad, Asif, Zain Ali, Saif and Waqas.
POLICE TORTURE: Police allegedly beat four youngsters who violated ban on kite flying.
A video went viral on Wednesday showing police subjecting four youngsters to torture after arresting them for violation of the kite flying act. DPO Zahid Marwat directed SP Investigation Fahad Ahmed to probe the incident.
Basant is associated with Hazrat Imam Shah Bukhari’s Urs that concluded last week. Police generally crack down on violators in January and February and go into hibernation during the rest of the year.
Kites were flown during the last couple of weeks and police have failed to control it.
On Tuesday last, motorcyclist Habibullah, a resident of Khudian Khas, suffered injuries on his neck when he came in contact with chemical twine near Dolaywala village. Many other people suffered minor injuries during the last few days due to kite flying.
During the last couple of weeks, the Kasur police claimed to have seized thousands of kites from the manufacturers and violators.
