SHIKARPUR: Two young girls lost their lives during an armed attack on a house in Jawabpur Chandio village of this district late on Wednesday night, officials at the Dakhan police station said on Thursday.

They said that a group of armed men stormed into the house of Hub Ali Chandio and opened indiscriminate fire leaving Soonh, 10, daughter of Hub Ali, and Maira, 8, daughter of Shahnawaz Chandio, dead.

Hub Ali told the police and local reporters that the attackers belonged to a group belonging to his own community with whom he had an old dispute.

Dakhan police collected and transported the bodies to the Garhi Yasin hospital and later handed them over to the heirs after a post-mortem examination.

A murder case was registered at the police station on the complaint of Hub Ali’s wife Rasheeda Chandio against 11 Chandios — Sikandar, Basheer, Nisar, Shahid, Allah Warayo, Muneer Ahmed, Ali Hassan, Irfan, Rafique, Ishaque and Fayyaz.
