WITH the surge in foreign investments, especially Chinese, we now need effective corporate laws to make development positive for the people.

Any violation of laws or should be strictly dealt with. Protecting the interests of the people and the workforce should be duty of the state.

I recommend one body to fairly and strictly observe corporate, labour and employment laws, especially meant for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) similar to the special military wing for the security of the projects.

Workers’ de-motivation may change the CPEC into a white elephant. We need a proper mechanism in place to prevent it from happening.
