SHEIKHUPURA: The Jhelum district officer coordination (DOC) was killed while his two relatives injured in an accident on the motorway near Farooqabad on Tuesday.

DOC Zulfiqar Bhatti and his relatives Nadeem and Khurram were on route to Lahore from Rawalpindi in a car. Near Farooqabad, the driver of the vehicle lost control while overtaking another car. Resultantly, the car skidded off the road and overturned. The DOC died on the spot while his relatives sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. The DOC had been recently posted in Jhelum.

Farooqabad Saddar police started investigation.

In another accident, a student was killed after being knocked down by a speeding tractor trolley.

Bilal was walking to school on Damoana Road when he was hit by the tractor, killing him instantly. Bhiki police are searching for the absconding driver.
