ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: As part of preparations for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), roads and buildings are being decorated with colourful buntings, banners and fancy lights in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In Islamabad, the main procession would start from Police Ground G/7. In case of rain, the procession would emerge from Mosque Jamia Al-Raza, Markaz G/7. Before the procession an Eid Milad-un-Nabi conference would be held.
A Milad-i-Mustafa rally would be taken out from Rawat on Sunday. The rally would culminate at G/9 Karachi Company after passing through Islamabad Highway.
Special programmes are being prepared for paying tributes and to highlight different aspects of the life of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Milad committees are collecting donations for celebrating the event in a befitting manner.
On Rabi-ul-Awal 12, Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions would also be taken out from different areas of Rawalpindi. Milad Committees are also busy in finalizing schedule of 'Mahafil-i-Naat'.
Various social, cultural, educational institutions and religious rganisations are finalising their programmes for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with religious fervour.
All bazaars, commercial shopping centres, government and private buildings are being illuminated. All the official departments have been directed to give every possible help and clear the routes of the procession.
An International Seerat Conference would be held on January 25 in Islamabad to highlight the life and achievements of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
A number of temporary stalls have already been set up in many streets across the twin cities where the sale of badges, stickers, flags and buntings is on the rise.
Irfan Hussain, a wholesale vendor in Abpara said: “The sale of flags, buntings, badges and stickers is on the rise these days”.
Irfan, who has been dealing in decorative items for 20 years, said the main item for this year was the green flag. “Prices of the flags are between Rs50 and Rs150,” he added.
“Hopefully, the sale will increase further in the next week,” Imran, another shopkeeper said.
According to the customers prices of decorative items are somehow reasonable.
Malik Nadeem, a resident, said he always decorated his street and adjoining areas during this holy month.
Meanwhile, children too are seen buzzing with excitement, adorning their houses with colourful flags and decorations.
They are also busy in buying and preparing special dresses for the day. — APP
