KARACHI, April 26: A splendid century by Zeeshan Jamil inspired Tapal CC into the final of the DMC South Green City cricket tournament with a 57-run victory over Shaheen Gymkhana in the second semi-final at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground here on Thursday.

Zeeshan, opening the innings, scored 106 with the aid of nine boundaries and one six as Tapal CC reached 267-7 in their allotted 40 overs.

Former Pakistan international Mohammad Javed contributed 51 that included two fours and one six, while Naeem Tayyab (35), Ahmed Zeeshan Malik (27) and Amit Ravi (22) also made useful runs.

Leg-spinner Ismail Patel claimed three wickets for 45 runs in his eight overs.

Shaheen Gymkhana, in reply, were restricted to 210-9 after Hamza-ul-Hasan (35 with two fours and one six) had put on 94 for opening wicket with Usman Aftab (45 with five boundaries).

Ismail Patel, however, completed a good all-round performance by top-scoring with 52. His defiant knock contained six hits to the fence.

Umar Arshad scored 33.Off-spinner Naeem Tayyab grabbed three for 22 in six overs, slow left-armer Kamran Umar three for 33 in eight overs and leg-spinner Akhtar Kayani two for 41 in eight overs.

Zeeshan Jamil was declared Man-of-the-Match for sterling batting.

Tapal CC will now meet Bright Gymkhana in the final which will be played later.
