PESHAWAR, Jan 22: The district administration has started preparations for providing foolproof security to the Eid Miladun Nabi processions and meetings.

In this regard, a meeting was held at the commissioner’s house here on Sunday to review preparations for Eid Milad. Besides Peshawar division commissioner Tariq Jamil, the meeting was attended by CCPO Imtiaz Altaf, DCO Siraj Ahmed, health minister Zahir Ali Shah and members of Idara Tabligh-i-Islam.

The district administration was directed to ensure proper lighting on the routes of processions and cleanliness in the areas. The participants said that the protection to lives of the people would be ensured and efforts would be made not to disturb people during the security preparations.

A police official said that meetings with the traders and religious groups had been held and all possible steps would be taken for security of the people.

He said that routes for the Milad processions had been identified and additional security personnel would be deployed to maintain peace in the city.

He said that all the entry and exit points would be plugged and people would be allowed to enter the worship places after body search and identification.
