GUJAR KHAN: The government is committed to revolutionising farming by switching to e-agriculture and incorporating state of the art machinery in the crop fields.

As many as 39 farmers of Jhelum district have won tractors at subsidised prices through balloting while the delivery of subsidised tractors was in process.

This was stated by minister of state for finance and railways Bilal Kiani at a function held to hand over subsidised tractors to the ballot winning farmers in Jhelum on Sunday.

Mr Kiani said that introduction and incorporation of state of the art machinery like super-seeders, bailers and Kubota were proving helpful in controlling smog and air pollution.

The minister said that an upgraded tehsil headquarters hospital at Dina was also planned and the completion of Jhelum-Lillah dual carriageway, linkage of Jhelum city to Sialkot-Kharian-Islamabad motorway, establishment of a cardiac trauma centre at the district headquarters hospital Jhelum would usher in an era of progress and development in the district.

He assured the residents of his constituency that the provision of Sui gas to Sohawa and Dina tehsil headquarter towns was being discussed with the ministry of petroleum.

The minister also visited the house of Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, a resident of Jhelum, who lost his life in the suicide attack in Islamabad and extended condolences on behalf of the prime minister to the bereaved family.

The minister said Pakistan army and law enforcement agencies were committed to defeat and eliminate terrorism from the country.
