LAHORE: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on Thursday postponed the examinations to be held for the posts of legal inspector in Punjab Police and other departments, scheduled to be held on Aug 30 and 31, because of the prevailing flood situation in the province.

The decision was taken in a special meeting chaired by the PPSC Chairman retired Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz.

The new dates for the examinations will be announced by the commission later.

More than 8,000 candidates from across the province were to participate in the exam to be held in Lahore for 434 posts.

The meeting, held in view of the flood situation in Punjab, was also attended by PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmad, Member Exam Mirza Suhail Amir, In charge of Examination Rana Rahat Ameen, and other officers concerned.

A handout says that due to the flood situation in various parts of the province and to avoid difficulties for candidates, the examinations scheduled for 30th and 31st August have been postponed. The candidates will be informed of the new exam dates through SMS, Email, and the commission’s website.
