LAHORE: The Punjab government has provided crime scene protection kits to the vehicles of all 747 police stations across the province.
The approval was granted in this regard in a meeting chaired by Punjab Police chief Abdul Kareem on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the special kits consisting of crime scene long cones, cordon tape and markers had been placed in the vehicle of every police station so that immediately after any incident to secure the evidence.
The IGP said crime scene protection was a fundamental component of investigation as proper and timely preservation of the scene ensured that evidence remained intact, which helped further improve the standard of investigation.
Additional IGP Shahzada Sultan said police officers were being provided special training as first responders and for this purpose 500 master trainers had already been prepared.
