SUKKUR: The Kandhkot police on Saturday shot dead three suspects during a shootout at Rani stop near Tangwani town within the limits of the Bakhshapur police station.

Kandhkot SSP Mohammad Murad Ghanghro, who led the action, said the suspects were members of the notorious Bhangwar gang. He said a fierce gun battle between police and gangsters lasted about an hour during a search operation. He identified the killed suspects as Abdul Karim, Ahar Khan and Bangal.

Their criminal records from different police stations were being collected, he said, adding that the bodies were taken to the Kandhkot Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
