SWABI: A seminary teacher has been arrested for beating a six-year-old child, police said here on Thursday.
The police took action against the teacher who allegedly tortured the child for being late to the seminary. According to a statement issued by the DPO office, Mohammad Asim, father of the child, told the police that his son was acquiring religious education at the Jamia Masjid in Meera Dhok, Mohalla, near Chota Lahor.
On Wednesday, he went to the seminary as usual. When he returned home late, he said his teacher Mohammad Sohail had brutally beaten him with a stick. Torture marks were clearly visible on his son’s back and he was in pain, Mr Asim told the police.
A police team led by DSP Mohammad Noman immediately reached the madrassah and arrested Qari Mohammad Sohail, a resident of Khunda Mohalla Panjpao, and registered a case under Child Protection Act 2010/44CPA against him.
In this regard, DSP Noman media persons that such incidents should be reported to the police immediately and added that they were bound to take prompt action.
