KARACHI: United Nations Representative, Sir Owen Dixon, had a 90-minute talk with Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan on Monday [July 17] afternoon. No one else was present at the talks. Sir Owen left for New Delhi at 2 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday). Usually reliable sources hinted that Sir Owen had not brought any formula for the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He had not come to discuss the agenda of the proposed Prime Ministers’ conference either. The only definite thing that had emerged out of the talks, it was said, was that the two Prime Ministers would meet with a desire to resolve the knotty problem. — Staff correspondent
