Long columns of North Korean armour artillery and supporting vehicles were spotted moving up to the front held by the American on two lines from the junction town of Changhowon.

[Meanwhile, in Karachi,] Pakistan’s Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani … had discussions with Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan on Sunday [July 16] regarding Kashmir Affairs. … It was not yet certain whether Mr Gurmani would accompany Mr … Khan to New Delhi for the forthcoming tripartite conference on Kashmir to be held on July 20.

[Separate reports from Karachi said,] a 70-foot-long portion of the base of a bund at Gulel, 50 miles from Tatta (Sind) is reported to have been eroded by the Indus waters … . The Sind PWD authorities… added that … the situation was entirely under control… .
