RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested a man and his two sons for allegedly murdering his wife in the limits of Rawat police station.

Fazal Malik, husband of the deceased woman, and his two sons were arrested for allegedly killing the woman in the name of so-called honour, police spokesman said.

The body of the woman has also been recovered.

Zahid Hussain, a resident of Nowshera district, lodged an FIR with the police saying that his sister was married to Fazal Malik some 30 year ago and had five children, including two sons.

He said in the FIR that Fazal Malik’s younger son Munir’s marriage was arranged with his niece in Rawat. He said his niece came to her father’s house in Peshawar on Tuesday and disclosed about her mother-in-law’s murder.

According to the police spokesperson, Rawat police took immediate action, and arrested the deceased woman’s husband and her two sons.

Upon receiving information about the incident, CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani ordered immediate legal action and arrest of the suspects.

SP Mohammad Nabil Khokhar said the suspects will be challaned in court with solid evidence and sentenced to death.

The accused involved in serious cases like murder cannot escape the clutches of law.
