LAHORE: The Alhamra Arts Council, in collaboration with Ajoka Theatre, is going to launch the second annual edition of its eight-week-long theatre workshop on July 16.
After the success of last year’s workshop, which concluded with the production Oont Patang, this year’s edition promises more theatre for aspiring artists. Participants will receive comprehensive training through lectures, practical exercises, theatre games, music and choreography sessions. The workshop will conclude with a live public performance of an original production developed during the programme.
Ajoka Institute Director Shahid Nadeem briefed on the initiative by saying that this workshop was not just about performance, it’s about discovery, growth, and purpose. “Participants will learn how theatre can reflect reality and challenge norms by sparking change.”
Mr Nadeem noted that the energy and transformation witnessed last year with Oont Patang was extraordinary and they were excited to build on that momentum.
Nirvaan Nadeem and Naseem Abbas will lead the training programme and guide the participants through their professional experience.
The Lahore Arts Council will provide all necessary facilities for the workshop. All aspiring actors, including those involved in university and college theatre groups, can register and take part in this workshop.
