HYDERABAD: Three suspected terrorists were arrested and a five-kg bomb was seized from them in a joint operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Karachi and Hyderabad late on Monday night and Tuesday morning in Shamir Shoro Goth, located along the new link road near Qasimabad.

The CTD identified the arrested suspects as Sarang alias Sohail Mirani, Mehran Mirani and Balang Chang, who are said to be members of the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA). Three hand grenades, a pistol and a list of targets were also seized from them.

Funded by foreign agencies, the suspects are believed to be involved in several incidents of violence in Sindh, including an attack on the office of Madadgar 15 and bombing of the Naseem Nagar check post in Qasimabad.

The accused are also wanted in six other incidents, including cracker attacks at the Qasimabad police station on June 10 (Case No. 261/2025) and at the Naseem Nagar police station on June 4 (Case No. 246/2025).

The CTD registered a case (No. 06/2025) against the arrested individuals under the Terrorism Act and started further investigation.
