RAWALPINDI: Prompt police move helped them detain a suspect who stabbed his sister to death in the limits of Dhamial police station on Sunday.

A police spokesman said that a team headed by ASI Naveed Iqbal was on patrol duty in Dhoke Darzian when they heard screams of a woman from inside a house.

The police party entered the house and found a young boy allegedly stabbing the girl repeatedly with a knife.

The police managed to control the enraged man, but the girl died due to severe injuries.

The accused, in his initial statement told the police that the victim was his sister, whom he had stabbed to death in the name of honour.
