SWAT: The stunning valley of Kalam in Swat witnessed the conclusion of the much-awaited Summer Jeep Rally, organised by Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA). The two-day event, which concluded with immense enthusiasm, saw the participation of over fifty 4x4 vehicles from across the country.

The rally, designed to promote adventure tourism and showcase the natural beauty of the region, began on first day from Bab-i-Swat and concluded at Matta, from where it commenced on the second day. The participants embarked on a thrilling journey through Kalam Bazaar, dense forests, picturesque natural springs, and lush green valleys, making their way to the majestic Deesan Banda Top, located at an elevation of 13,600 feet.

Adnan Ibrar, Director General of USDA, remarked, “The Summer Jeep Rally is a testament to our commitment to fostering adventure tourism in Swat. By organising such events, we aim to highlight the region’s natural beauty and its potential as a top-tier travel destination.”

As the participants reached the towering heights of Deesan Banda, they were mesmerised by the breathtaking natural landscapes, the cool weather, and the lush green mountains surroundings. Dr. Maryam, a seasoned jeep driver, shared her excitement, saying, “Reaching the summit of Deesan Banda was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The views were simply spectacular, and the adventure was beyond description.”

The rally was not just a test of driving skills and endurance but also offered participants a chance to experience Swat’s mountainous terrain in its raw, unspoiled beauty. Sheharyar, President of the 4X4 Jeep Club, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “This event was impeccably organised, allowing us to explore some of Swat’s most scenic yet less-visited areas. The experience left a lasting impression on all of us, and it’s clear that Swat has immense tourism potential.”

The USDA’s initiative is part of a broader effort to boost adventure tourism in the region, to generate employment, and preserve Swat’s natural heritage.

As the rally concluded, participants expressed their desire for more such events in the future. “We believe that these events not only contribute to the local economy but also enhance the global recognition of Swat as a premier adventure tourism destination,” said one of the participants.

The successful conclusion of the Summer Jeep Rally has set the stage for further adventure-driven events in the region, contributing to the overall growth of Swat’s tourism sector.
