WHILE the West does a lot of talking about women’s rights, it has chosen to stay silent over the plight of Palestinian women amid endless reports of crimes being committed by Israeli soldiers. The United Nations has voiced its concern over the number of Palestinian women being abused by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), but the West has chosen not to pay any heed to any voice of sanity.

The horrible attitude of the European occupation soldiers towards women have been reported by the occupation media where a footage was shown of a soldier in a detention facility abusing a Palestinian prisoner. A Palestinian female freed from an occupation detention centre said that fellow Palestinian women had been raped by European occupation interrogators to force them to confess to crimes they had not commited.

To force them to accept the colonialist version of events, the European occupiers video-tape the rape for later blackmail. The culture of rape and abuse of women is encouraged even by the rabbis. Rabbi Col Eyal Moshe Krim, the military’s chief rabbi, said it was acceptable for Jewish Israeli soldiers to rape Palestinian women.

Attacking Arab women in their land has been going on since the occupation began. Polish squatter who was the first president of occupied Palestine had said in 1948 that he could “forgive instances of rape” committed against Palestinian women if it in any manner helped in the further occupation of Palestinian lands. The attackers of women and enablers of genocide in Palestine are invited to western countries that invented Women’s Day to lecture the developing world on how to behave with women. Ironical?
