MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) will consider the accreditation of the University of Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) for legal education as a top priority at its upcoming meeting.

This assurance was given by Barrister Usama Malik, Director at PBC’s Directorate of Legal Education, to Dr Shamsul Hassan Syed Azeemi, Registrar of the University, at a meeting with him in his office in Islamabad, according to a press release issued by the varsity’s spokesperson on Saturday.

Dr Azeemi highlighted the university’s ambition to become a leading institution in legal education, setting new benchmarks not just in AJK but also across Pakistan and beyond.

Barrister Ali Saim Saleem, an official at the presidency who was also present at the meeting, pledged his unwavering and unconditional support to Dr Azeemi in this regard, the varsity spokesman said.

“The assurances from these high-ranking officials underscore the paramount significance of quality education at a national level,” he said, and added:”The development also signals a significant advancement in the university’s efforts to become a beacon of legal education, inspiring students and faculty alike to strive for excellence in their academic and professional pursuits.”
