GILGIT: The seven-day Winter Fest 2024 kicked off on Tuesday at the frozen Khalti Lake in Ghizer district, aiming to highlight the region’s potential for winter tourism. The second edition of much-awaited festival officially commenced with ice hockey competitions.

Organised by the GB Tourism Department, the participants, adorned in traditional dresses and caps, danced to the beat of local music, while artists performed songs.

A total of 16 ice hockey teams, out of which four were female teams, from various parts of GB participated in the competition, with athletes also taking part in skating and other local games.
