WASHINGTON: Abortions have become unavailable or severely restricted in a dozen US states since last week’s Supreme Court ruling, rights activists said on Friday.

“Abortion is unavailable or largely unavailable in approximately 12 states as of today,” said ACLU’s Anthony Romero.

The union, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Centre for Reproductive Rights have taken legal action to block abortion bans in 11 states: Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.
