NAROWAL: Three persons were arrested on Saturday for torture of a first-year student and stripping him naked at an outhouse at village Chandowal on the Shakargarh Road on Feb 19.

The video of the suspects torturing the student went viral, leading to the police action and arrest of the suspects.

The victim was identified as Muhammad Fahad (17), the son of Ehsan Butt, a labourer from the Jilani Colony of Narowal city.

Mr Butt said his son had gone to drop his sister at a private school on Feb 19 when the suspects, including Muhammad Kaleem, Muhammad Ali and Saqib, abducted him and took him to the outhouse on motorcycles.

“The suspects brutally beat my son with shoes, punches, kicks and sticks,” he said and added that the suspects had stripped his son and made him a Murga as they continued torturing him. The suspects posted the video of torture on social media.

Fahad told Dawn that the suspects locked him in a room and tortured him for four hours.

“They kept asking me about a girl, named Aila, and her whereabouts. I pleaded with them that I don’t know the girl,” he said.

The suspects released Fahad after keeping him hostage for four hours and warned him of consequences if he told anyone about it.

After the video went viral on social media, District Police Officer Kamran Mumtaz took notice of the incident and ordered the City police to arrest the suspects immediately.

On his orders, the City police arrested Kaleem, Ali and Saqib and registered a case on the complaint of Ehsan Butt.
