TOBA TEK SINGH: A police officer died and his wife was injured seriously when their car rammed into a parked tractor-trolley on Toba-Jhang road on Tuesday.
District police spokesperson Mr Attaullah told reporters that Deputy Superintendent of Police Syed Saqlain Shah, 55, who was posted at Lahore’s Old Anarkali police station, was returning from his hometown Bhakkar to Lahore by his car with his family.
When they reached near Rorranwali highway patrolling police post to take motorway M-4 from TT Singh interchange, his car rammed into a tractor-trolley loaded with sand parked along the road.
As a result, he was seriously injured and died instantly. His wife Farzana Sadiq, 37, was criticality wounded in the accident. However, his 17-year-old daughter and two sons remained unhurt.
The DSP’s squad shifted his dead body and his injured wife to the local district headquarters hospital. Later, the body was shifted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital for an autopsy.
Jhang police have impounded the tractor-trolley and registered a case against its driver.
