BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari says the Bahawalpur province cannot be restored as it’s not viable for a provincial status because of less population and area.

Talking here with a private TV channel on Monday, he alleged that in fact the issue of Bahawalpur suba had been raised by PML-N to misguide the people.

Mazari said Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government were planning for the creation of South Punjab province.

He said a mini secretariat for redressing the grievances of the people of South Punjab would be established in Multan within the next two to three months. He hoped that the mini secretariat would be able to resolve the problems of the people of South Punjab, including Bahawalpur.
