JHANG: The annual two-day Urs of Hazrat Sultan Bahu began at Garh Maharaja here on Thursday.

A large number of devotees from various parts of the country and abroad flocked to the shrine where every year on Muharram 9 ghusal (ceremonial bath) is performed by the caretaker. The devotees in keeping with the tradition first visited the shrines of the saint’s parents in Shorkot city and later moved to Garh Maharaja.

Police claimed that they had made elaborate security arrangements to facilitate people.
