LAHORE: The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Saturday announced that 75.14 candidates passed the matriculation annual examination 2018.

According to the results, 232,046 students sat the examination out of whom 174,363 were successful.

In the science group, 152,704 candidates appeared and 125,050 passed the exam with the pass percentage being 81.89. In humanities group, out of the 79,342 candidates who appeared, 49,313 remained successful with a 62.15 pass percentage.

The announcement ceremony was held at a local hotel and Lahore Commissioner Dr Mujtaba Piracha was the chief guest. Lahore BISE Chairman Prof Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail and examination controller Prof Nasir Jamil were also present.

The commissioner distributed medals, certificates and cash prizes worth Rs20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 to the first, second and third position holders, respectively. The first position holders, Waseem Yaseen and Afzal Tauseef, were also given laptops.

The commissioner also congratulated the position holders in his keynote address and hoped that they will continue to achieve success in their lives.

MULTAN: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Multan, announced the detailed matriculation result on Saturday.

As many as 105,069 candidates appeared in the exam and 86,784 were declared successful.

In the BISE Gujranwala, 210,000 candidates appeared in the examination while 166,755 of them were declared successful.

In Sargodha, Chaudhry Muhammad Akram Tarar, controller examination, disclosed that 87,613 students had appeared in the examination and 70,578 remained successful.

Meanwhile, Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen issued the schedule for supplementary examination which will be started from Oct 8.

The candidates can submit their admission forms till August 6 with single fee, till August 13 with double fee and till August 28 with triple fee plus Rs500 for delayed day.
