SWABI: The district police have arrested 27 suspects, including three proclaimed offenders, and recovered arms and ammunition from them.

Acting district police officer Azhar Ahmad Khan said here the other day that the arrests were made in the Swabi circle, adding the proclaimed offenders were wanted in murder and attempted murder cases. They were named Tayyaf of Kohistan, Mukhtiar of Attock and Wazir Gul.

Police recovered three Kalakovs, three pistols, a shotgun and 327 cartridges from their custody. The police also recovered five kilogramme charas from a vehicle on Swabi-Jehangira road and arrested a drug smuggler.

DSP Azhar Shah said SHO Tordher Khalid Iqbal Khan along with personnel stopped a car on the road and recovered five kg charas concealed in different sections of the vehicle. The drug trafficker was named Omair of Khyber Agency. A case was registered against him.
