Three killed in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Three people, including a woman, were killed in different incidents in the provincial metropolis on Thursday.

According to police, armed men shot dead two people identified as Nauman and Arbab Saboor of Nahqai village.

An official of Daudzai police station said that the two were killed when their vehicle came under attack. He said that those nominated in the case included Tajuddin, Mumtaz and Nijat, sons of Wali Mohammad, of the same village.

The police said that the two families had an old enmity. A case has been registered against the accused.

In another incident, a woman identified as Jan Zeba of Attock died in a road accident in the limits of Daudzai police station.

Police said that the woman was killed when a taxi she was travelling in overturned.

They said that the cab driver also sustained minor injuries.

In Nowshera, unknown assailants shot dead Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Pabbi, president Abdul Kalam when he was returning home on Thursday.

Official sources said that Mr Kalam, resident of Khudraizi village, was going home from Pabbi bazaar when the gunmen attacked him. He died on the spot. The family said that they had no enmity with anyone in the area.

Pabbi police registered the case against unknown accused and have started investigation.
