Q I am using Windows XP on my P4 system. Recently, whenever I connect to the internet via PTCL V-wireless, after a while, the following error appears "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and the connection hangs up.
Then I have to restart my PC to prepare again for the same problem. Please suggest a solution.
A This usually signifies the presence of a worm. Please ensure that youve scanned your system with AVG / Kaspersky Antivirus Software, have Comodo (www.comodo.com) Firewall on and PrevX CSI (www.prevx.com) has given you a clean sheet before proceeding with the fix. Also download Ad-Aware or SpyBot from www.download.com and run a complete system scan.
1. Start/Run the command called regedit.exe (Registry editor). Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesNetBTParameters and on the right side, double-click TransportBindName - press delete and give it an empty value. That will close port 445. Also, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftOLE and change the value of EnableDCOM from Y to the value N — that will close port 135. If you know how, you may also disable NETbios. Restart the computer and the bug might be gone.
2. The most efficient way to fix the error in most cases is to install the update offered on this Microsoft page at
http//www.microsoft.com/technet/ security/bulletin/ms06-040.mspx, even though this page doesnt explicitly mention the error choose the update for your correct operating system. Its worked for a lot of people.
3. If you have any HP equipment such as printers and scanners, they have also been known to cause the problem. Please get and install the latest drivers for these.
4. If it doesnt fix the problem but you think you might a problem with svchost.exe and Windows Update — e.g. youre getting an access violation error and/or svchost.exe eats 100% of your CPU time — install KB 927891 (http//support.microsoft.com/?kbid=927891). If you add this patch, you should also manually update to the update client WSUS 3.0 (http//support.microsoft.com/?kbid=927891)
6. If the problem still exists, try this Put your XP CD into your CD drive. Click Start, Run, and type SFC /SCANNOW into the box (note the space before the /), and then click OK. One of these will definitely fix this problem.

I would also recommend Ophcrack. Ophcrack is an open source (GPL licensed) programme that cracks Windows passwords by using LM hashes through rainbow tables. The programme includes the ability to import the hashes from a variety of formats, including dumping directly from the SAM files of Windows. These tables can crack 99.9% of alphanumeric passwords of up to 14 characters in usually a few seconds, and at most a few minutes. You can get it from http//ophcrack.sourceforge.net/.
Q I have a system Intel P4, Win XP SP 2 , 1GB of RAM, 2.99GHz of Processors speed and 128MB of Inbuilt video memory. The problem is that when I play Iron Man First it runs smoothly but after starting the game the speed slows down. Please tell me what to do.
AYou need a minimum of 256 MB of Video Memory to play this game. Im surprised how you managed to even run it in the first place. Please purchase a Graphics Accelerator if youd like to run games such as these.
Incidentally, the gameplay is slow and dull, and the game has failed to make a mark on the PC. So its not a big loss if it doesnt work on your system.
Q I have a P4. WinXP SP2. When I go to youtube the videos play very slowly. It hangs a lot.
A If you mean that the videos are slow in loading, than that is a problem with your internet connection and not the browser. However, do ensure that you have the latest version of flash installed in your computer. Visit www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ to update your system to Flash Player 10.
Q I have Nokia 5320 Xpress Music phone. I want to play wma files in it. I copied Windows Media Players setup in the memory stick but it doesnt run on the phone. How can I play this extension on my phone?
A Try using Internet Download Manager from www.internetdownloadmanager.com/. Its far superior to DAP.
Your phone already supports MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA audio formats and you dont need additional software to play these files. Just copy the WMA files onto your phone and play them via the Xpress Music Player located in the menu under Music Player. You can copy the files to the Phone or the MicroSD card via USB Cable.
