Published February 13, 2013

LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 12: On the recommendations of the departmental promotion committee the district education officer Haji Mir Azam Khan has promoted 540 primary schoolteachers to BPS-15 in teaching cadre and posted them as head teachers in the primary schools.“The new head teachers in BPS-15 would be on probation for a period of one year extendable for another one year,” according to a notification.

The head teachers have been directed to assume charge of office immediately and submit charge reports to relevant officials.

Meanwhile, office-bearers of teachers organisations hailed the promotion of primary schoolteachers and said the appointment of promoted teachers as head teachers would bring improvement in the learning environment in primary schools besides helping to boost literacy rate in the far flung localities of the district.—Correspondent
