LAHORE, May 13: A woman in her 40’s was killed and her 22-year-old daughter was injured after two persons opened fire on them near Ghazi Road in Factory Area on Sunday.

The police said Nafeesa Bibi of Firdaus Park, Chungi Amar Sidhu was going to a church by a rickshaw along with her three daughters when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them near the Lahore General Hospital.

The firing left Nafeesa and her daughter Mahrukh injured and both were taken to the Lahore General Hospital, where the former succumbed to her wounds.

Preliminary police inquiries established that Nafeesa, mother of six, lost her son in January this year after he was shot by unidentified suspects. The case is not yet traced.

The police also came to know that the victim had developed a dispute with her nephew Erik Masih who wanted to live in a house sold by the victim to some other party.

The police shifted the body and registered a case against unidentified suspect(s) on the complaint of victim’s son Salman.

The Factory Area police said an unidentified man died at a hospital shortly after he was spotted unconscious near Officers Colony. Investigators suspected use of liquor and shifted the body for autopsy.
