LAHORE, March 9: The Punjab University College of Art and Design (PUCAD) launched on Friday MS in art history and gave orientation about the degree to the newly-admitted students.

College principal Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud welcomed the first batch and briefed the students on the curriculum, importance and value of the programme. She said the programme would help produce art historians, art critics, art archivists, museum and gallery curators and art activists.

Coordinator of research centre Dr Shaukat Mahmood, Dr Anis Sidiqui, Dr Shahida Manzoor, Dr Nadra Khan, Dr Barbara Schmitz, Athar Tahir, Dr Shoiab Ahmad and Nadeem Alam introduced students with the curriculum along with various art history subjects designed and developed particularly for this programme. BOOK FAIR:

The Punjab University Book Fair Coordination Committee reviewed on Friday arrangements of three-day annual book fair beginning from March 15 at main corridor of the Institute of Education and Research. The book fair will remain open from 9am to 7pm daily.

PU registrar Prof Dr Khan Raas Masood Khan, deans of various faculties, heads of various departments, chairmen and members of book fair committees participated in the meeting.

The chairmen of various committees gave briefing to the participants regarding arrangements being made to organise the book fair in a manner that a large number of students as well as families could be benefited at optimum level. HCC FOUNDER”S DAY:

The PU Hailey College of Commerce is celebrating its 86th Founder's Day on college lawns at 11am on Saturday (today). PU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will preside over the ceremony. Senator Ishaq Dar, Senator Jahangir Badr, Sartaj Aziz and ex-chairman FBR Abdullah Yusuf will be the guests of honour. Prominent Old Hailians from all over the world are participating in the event. LLB EXAMS:

The PU examinations department has announced that the LLB Part-I, II and III examinations will begin from June 29, July 2 and July 3, respectively.

The eligible candidates can submit their admission forms and fee for LLB, Part-I, II and III annual examinations for 2012 with single fee till May 15, 16 and 17, respectively; and with double fee till May 23, 24 and 25, respectively. RESULTS:

The PU examinations department on Friday declared the results of Postgraduate Diploma in Development Support Communication (semester system), session 2009 and Postgraduate Diploma in Multimedia Production Arts (semester system), session 2009.
