Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that all registered floodaffected people have received the first installment of compensation and efforts are underway to get assistance from federal government for payment of the second installment. Addressing notables and talking to journalists during inauguration of various development schemes here on Tuesday, he said that restoration of peace in the province was their top priority. “Doorsof dialogues are open for those, who lay down arms and accept writ of government,” he added.

The chief minister inaugurated Kaskorona Bridge and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rustam Khel. He also laid foundation stone of fruit and vegetable market on Charsadda Road.

He said that development work was not being carried out in Mardan at the cost of other districts. “Mardan is second major city of the province in respect of population but it was deprived of its just right in the past,” he said.

He said that construction of Ring Road would decrease traffic problems in Mardan.

He said that six flyovers were approved for linking the Ring Road with other roads.

Mr Hoti said that support of people was essential for any task and they should also monitor the development schemes.

He also announced construction of a mosque in fruit and vegetables market.

He said that first installment of compensation was paid to all registered flood survivors in the province while second installment would be provided in case of availability of resources that were promised by the federal government.

To a query about expected flood, the chief minister said that usual monsoon rain and flood was expected this year and government had taken practical measures in this regard.

He said that technical experts predicted far better situation this year as compared to last year during monsoon.

However, the government response in any case would be prompt, he said.

Regarding Afghan Transit Trade agreement, the chief minister said that federal government had not shared details of the agreement with provincial government.
