SWABI, March 1: PPP local leaders have criticised the provincial leadership for issuing a notification to nominate district general secretary Maj (retd) Fida Hussain as acting president in Swabi without their consent.

The party's incumbent president, Manfat Khan, who was sick for some time, is recovering.

At a meeting called by the district leaders here on Tuesday the participants criticised the provincial leaders for 'ignoring their loyalty and dignity and creating disunity in party's ranks.

It is to mention here that Manfat Khan and Fida Hussain led separate groups of the party in the past but reconciled a few weeks back.

Briefing media, Swabi tehsil president Javid Inqilabi said: “Mr Manfat Khan has rendered sacrifices for the party's cause during toughest of times. And is president of the party for last 20 years, but the provincial leadership has harmed the party by appointing an acting president in the district.”

The participants unanimously demanded that the notification should be immediately withdrawn because both the leaders and workers were not ready to accept it.
