ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) will provide job opportunities to eunuchs at its regional offices. This was decided at a meeting presided over by Nadra Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem. The meeting discussed various aspects of the policy framework for issuance of identity cards in different parts of the country in accordance with the decision of Supreme Court.

Initially, the authority will appoint seven eunuchs at provincial offices to facilitate members of the community of eunuchs and transvestites in the processing of computerised national identity cards (CNICs), according to sources.

The meeting decided that the appointees would be designated as Nadra officials on the posts of data entry operators at the four provincial offices, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Nadra headquarters in Islamabad. The meeting was informed that the issuance of CNICs would commence from January in the light of Supreme Court orders.
