KARACHI, Feb 7: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) and Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) qualified for the final round of Pakistan-inter board cricket tournament after winning their respective matches here on Friday.
In the first match the BIEK beat Faisalabad Board by 15 runs at the TMC Ground. Saeed Mutabir blasted an enterprising 105 with 12 boundaries and three sixes as the BIEK, batting first, mustered 192-9 in the allotted 40 overs. Umar Imtiaz made 25. Kamran Irshad (3-41) and Saqlain Suleman (2-25) bowled well.
Faisalabad Board, in reply, could manage 177-9 in their 40 overs. Zeeshan Raza made 61 with five fours and two sixes while M. Yousuf scored 40. Ubaid (2-22) and Asad Ali (2-34) showed their skills with the leather.
In the other match, off-spinner Syed Farooq captured five wickets for six runs in a deadly spell and Fawad Khan took three for 17 as the BSEK dismissed the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) for a paltry 51 in 21.3 overs.
The BSEK, in response, reached the target for the loss of two wickets in nine overs. Ahsan Ali cracked an unbeaten 35.—APP
